Backflow Prevention in Hamilton

When water flows through a pipe in a direction opposite to that which is intended, it is called backflow. This causes contamination to be drawn back into the water distribution system unless prevented by a backflow preventer. Backflow can be caused due back siphonage or back pressure within a plumbing system.  One example of backflow occurring in which water would flow in an upstream direction from a property back into a municipal water service would be caused by a water main break on a municipal service water line.

At Plumbway, we provide backflow prevention devices. This is a mechanical device installed on a water service downstream of the water meter to prevent backflow. Our trained and licenced experts are knowledgeable backflow specialists who are highly qualified to perform a required task associated with your backflow prevention and cross connection control installations, repairs, and testing.

All our testers are fully licensed and registered with the ministry and can assist you with the following:

  • Annual testing and inspections
  • Installation & repairs of backflow preventers
  • Cross connection control surveys
  • Obtaining permits
  • Interpreting local by-laws
